The Good Space Dash for the Beads is already one of the largest social gatherings in Oak Cliff and now we’re getting even bigger! Dash for the Beads is an annual 5k run and 1 mile walk that coincides with Mardi Gras so come out and Laissez les bons temps rouler! (To you Mardi Gras newbies that is Cajun for “Let the good times roll”)

Become a Friend of the Dash
Dash for the Beads is one of the largest Oak Cliff community events whose sole focus is to help children. Since the event began in 2010, we have awarded over $450,000 in grant money for local area schools and non-profits to promote physical fitness, healthy eating and arts programming.
Friends of the Dash is our sustaining program that accepts year-round donations and demonstrates your ongoing commitment for the charitable programs supported by Dash for the Beads. Your $250 commitment will be put to use in any number of ways to help Oak Cliff children exercise, eat better and spur their imagination through innovative arts programs.

Strap on your best pair of pumps and join us for the Dash in Heels with Black Tie Dinner immediately following the 5K race. You will run for 50 yards, on concrete, as fast as your high heels will let ya! Must wear a minimum of 2” heels to compete. Prizes will be awarded to the individual in the highest heel, the best-dressed individual, and the best-dressed group – who doesn’t LOVE a theme, right?
